As others have said,,, God Bless Bishop Currie,,,many people catholic or not, who grew up in his home town loved and respected him , There could be few others that have been as close to God , but still, just as close to his people, This was an inspiring interview in these so fast changing times, as always he makes us all want to be part of the catholic community,l am going to say,,, Cant wait to see you home on the altar in St Peters ,,,,

I grew up in the same community as Father Marty, he was one of a kind ,who treated every person regardless of their religion the same. If the religious world had more people like Mart, there would be more believers and church goes.

I have great respect for Bishop Currie, he was our Pastor at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Dartmouth NS, he was always up to date on the times we live in and he tries his best to meet people where they are, I pray that people will listen to his words of encouragement. Bob Browner

I can remember this kind and gentle man making a huge difference, in the St. Pats district of Halifax , back in the 1960’s – 70’s.
He genuinely cared about the youth in the neighbourhood and took a personal interest in trying to show us he cared by coaching us in different sports events. I still remember and talk about ( to us he was Father Currie ) . We as the kids of the St Pats Parish of Halifax looked up to this man. And every single time I hear or see something about this man , I remember what a difference he made to us all, when we were young. SO!!!’

I had the pleasure of feeding the Bishop for almost a week for our Mission, I tried fancy meals ,nearly to the end, I asked if he enjoyed the meals, with clear honesty he replied” I’m a meat & potatoes kind of guy, the next night Roast Beef & all the trimmings is what I served, with a huge Thank You, that was good. lol

My family and I have come to know Archbishop Currie fairly well. When I have concerns I can bring them to him, he will call me at home, he wants to get to the problem and help. He has been to our home on a few occasions, because he was invited, and mostly because he cares about families. Many have fallen away over the years and sadly missing out on the faith they knew and love. I would say come home, start with talking with Archbishop Currie if your have concerns, he will meet you wherever you are. There is much forgiveness for all of us, your circumstances are no worse than anyone else. Thanks Martin

You are an amazing man and if anyone can reach people of all ages it is you. You are a person first, you make people comfortable in your presence and that is a huge part of bringing young people back to practicing their faith. Thank you for all you do.

God bless Father Marty! I too am a RC from his home town and have watched his rise within the church with admiration and respect. He is an inspiration to all. His quiet presence in preaching the resurrected Christ has and will continue to draw people to the Easter message. It would be awesome if he retired back to his home town and became an inspired presence at St. Peter’s church. May the Lord continue to bless you Father Marty and be assured our Nova Scotia prayers are with you.
