Girls Rock NL are set to launch 2018 with an all-ages launch event this Saturday in St. John’s.

The event, which takes place at The Lantern Conference Room in St. John’s from 2-4, will include special musical guests Land of Lakes, plus screenings, prizes, a gallery of memories from previous instalments of Girls Rock NL Summer Camp, fundraising activities, photo booths, facepainting and more.

Girls Rock NL is an inclusive musical community, mentorship program, and non-profit organization that builds self esteem amongst self-identified girls and female youth in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through its activities and a week long summer camp, Girls Rock NL connects girls to professional women in the arts, offers workshops for their success, and gives girls the opportunity to learn an instrument, write a song, and rock out on stage. Girls Rock NL fosters confidence, leadership, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration through music and performance empowering girls and women and encouraging social change.
