Team Gushue are now back to back Brier Champions!
Following a record setting tournament for skip Brad Gushue, who bested the all-time win record of 113 and then padded to that total as the week progressed, Team Gushue, representing Canada in the tournament, rolled into the Sunday March 11th final against Alberta with a near perfect record. Their only loss, ironically, came by way of a 10-7 defeat to Alberta and skip Brendan Bottcher in the 12th draw, their opponents in the championship match.
While it was competitive until the end, Team Gushue came out with their second Tim Hortons Brier title in a row, following a nail biting 6-4 championship match against Alberta. Never a dull moment in curling!
The team of Gushue, third Mark Nichols, second Brett Gallant, lead Geoff Walker, alternate Tom Sallows and coach Jules Owchar proved beyond doubt that they are one of the best curling clubs in the world today.
