Today it was announced that Come From Away, the Tony winning and Grammy nominated musical inspired by events in Gander, Newfoundland in September 11th, 2001, will tour North America extensively from October 2018 to August 2019.
The tour is expected to kick off at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, Washington on October 9th and move across the United States in Canada.
Canadian dates include Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary in March of 2019, with the tour ending in Ottawa from August 20-September 1st, 2019. Casting, ticket information, additional cities and tour dates will be announced at a later date.
Come From Away launched at Broadway’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in March of 2017 to critical and commercial acclaim, later expanding into Toronto, Ontario.
It features a book, music and lyrics by Grammy and two-time Tony Award nominees and Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award winner Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and stars Newfoundlander Petrina Bromley and features fellow Newfoundlander Romano Di Nillo on percussion.
