Deadgaard Announces Split Album & Tour with Orchid’s Curse

St. John’s based metallers Deadgaard may be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their seminal album The Forging (back when they were known as Weapon) this weekend, but they have raised the stakes even higher today with the announcement of an Atlantic Canadian tour and split album with Dartmouth’s thrashers Orchid’s Curse

Graveyard of the Gulf is an 8-song split by Deadgaard (St. John’s, NL) and Orchid’s Curse (Dartmouth, NS) featuring 4 songs from each artist. The name was inspired by an area in the Gulf of St. Lawrence between Cape Breton and Port aux Basques, Newfoundland where it is estimated that more than 350 shipwrecks have occurred over the last 400 years.

“After two successful trips to St. John’s, Newfoundland we fell in love with the city, the people and their incredible metal scene.” commented Orchid’s Curse, “It was an easy decision to do an album with local, heavy metal staples Deadgaard and we can’t wait for you to hear the “Graveyard of the Gulf” split. If you’re in Halifax, Moncton, Fredericton or St. John’s we hope to see you this July!”

Deadgaard adding:“We are absolutely stoked on releasing this split with Orchids Curse. Although we are both different genres, we feel as that the songs blend perfectly. It was a super fun project to work on and we can’t wait for people to hear it. Along with the album we figured it would be the perfect time to finally get our asses off this island and play for other audiences in Atlantic Canada. We are gonna bring it.”

Nearly two years in the works, each band have come together with 4 songs which not only compliment each other but are unique and dynamic in their own rights. In addition to releasing the split on CD and Digitally the bands will be touring select dates in Atlantic Canada.

Each band has made one new song available on the Graveyard of the Gulf bandcamp page. To hear “Endless Hate” by Deadgaard and “Born of the Same Sun” by Orchid’s Curse, please visit: https://graveyardofthegulf.bandcamp.com
