Newfoundland Picks up Six Nominations at Canadian Folk Music Awards

Newfoundland and Labrador has picked up six nominations at the 2018 Canadian Folk Music Awards.

Leading the way is Matthew Byrne and his album Horizon Lines. Byrne earned a pair of nominations for  Traditional Album of the Year and Traditional Singer of the Year.

Former winners  The Swinging Belles received yet another nomination for Children’s Album of the Year for their sophomore release, The Superstar Sibling Detective Agency.

Kellie Loder earned a Contemporary Singer of the Year nod for her album Benefit Of The Doubt.

Finally both Christian Howse and Earle and Coffin earned nominations for Young Performer(s) of the Year.

In all 96 nominees make up the 19 categories for the 14th annual awards ceremony, which will be presented throughout the evenings of November 30th and December 1st in Calgary Alberta at the Gateway.
