It has been a massive week for concert announcements in Newfoundland and Labrador. From comedy shows to massive arena concerts and more, here are some of the highlights of the week that was in big ticket show reveals:

Cory Heart: Never Surrender Tour

Canadian musical icon, Corey Hart has announced the details of his first major arena tour across Canada since 1986. Produced by Live Nation, The Never Surrender Tour kicks off in St. John’s, NFLD on May 31 (Corey’s Birthday) and will follow the May 3, 2019 release of Hart’s new record Dreaming Time Again. Special guests to be announced soon.

Tickets for The Never Surrender Tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 7 at 10am at www.evenko.ca. Fans can visit Corey Hart’s Facebook page for exclusive presale details www.facebook.com/coreyhartofficial.  American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning on Tuesday, December 4 at 12pm local time through Thursday, December 6 at 10pm.

The Game Canadian Tour

For the first time in 13 years, chart topping rapper The Game is set to tour Canada, and he’s including a St. John’s tour date in the itinerary.

The 38-year-old rapper had three number one Billboard charting albums in the U.S, including his platinum selling debut The Documentary, which featured the hits How We Do and Hate It Or Love It.  Featuring support from Quake Matthews and DJ Savory and hosted by Keith Dean, the event takes place January 29th at the CLB Armoury. Tickets on sale now.

Gerry Dee 20th Anniversary Tour 

Comedian and television personality Gerry Dee is bringing his 20 Years of Stand Up tour to the Holy Heart Theatre in St. John’s on April 25th. “Stand up is where it all started for me 20 years ago,” said Dee shared in a press release for the tour. 

“I’m very grateful to the fans who have supported me along the way and I look forward to celebrating this milestone with them on the tour.” 

The tour will follow the 8th and final season of the award-winning sitcom Mr D., created, written by and starring Dee. Currently airing on CBC, the show will take its final bow on December 19, 2018. Tickets at the box office, by phone and online.

BRDGS Newfoundland Tour

It’s been a huge year for Newfoundland born pop star BRDGS. Performances alongside the likes of Ria Mae and Nelly have followed up successful singles All My Friends and In The Wild. Now, BRDGS is returning home for the holidays with performances in Stephenville (Dec.23), Grand Falls-Windsor (Dec.26), Marystown (Dec.28), Gander (Dec.29) and Corner Brook (Dec.31). The Pink Floyd Experience 

Talented Pink Floyd cover band The Pink Floyd Experience are heading to the St. John’s Convention Centre on March 21st.

The internationally regarded tribute group are set to perform two albums, note for note, in one jam-packed evening. The group will perform the acclaimed studio album Dark Side of the Moon, followed by Pink Floyd’s Greatest Hits. Shaun Majumder’s Hate Tour 

Shaun Majumder is bringing his full-throttle, no-holds-barred HATE TOUR to his home province of Newfoundland and Labrador this April.

Majumder is joined by St. John’s comedian and good friend Matt Wright.

“I don’t want to explain too much,” Majumder comments. “It’s about the time we live in with all the divisive nature of politics and society. The theme of the tour is HATE”

The Newfoundland and Labrador leg of Majumder’s Canadian tour is produced by Premiere Entertainment Group and travels through the region as follows:

  • Monday, April 8 – Arts and Culture Centre, Labrador West
  • Wednesday, April 10 – Arts and Culture Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor
  • Friday, April 12 – Arts and Culture Centre, Stephenville
  • Friday, April 13 – Arts and Culture Centre, Corner Brook
  • Monday, April 15 – Arts and Culture Centre, Gander
  • Thursday, April 18 – Arts and Culture Centre, St. John’s
  • Friday, April 19 – Eastlink Events Centre, Clarenville

Green & Gold Return 

After a year-long hiatus Green & Gold are ready to take the stage again. Core members Len O’Neill, Steve Doyle and Chris Meyers will be joined by local veterans Kelly McMichael and Paddy Byrne, and will play a selection of songs from The Body Knows and And Then The New Crow Came, as well as some new material.

Joining them will be Weary, and Dormitories. Doors are at 10pm. Cover is $10. Tickets available at Fred’s Records.
