Newfoundland’s Kaetlyn Osmond is your World Figure Skating Ladies Singles Champion after finishing with a combined 223.23 points at the World Figure Skating Championships in Milan Italy. Her fantastic 150.50 point free skate vaulted Osmond from fourth place to gold.

Osmond’s win, which caps off a historic season which included Olympic gold and bronze medals in Pyeongchang, makes the first time a Canadian has held the title since Karen Magnussen managed the feat in Czechoslovakia 45 years ago.

We are so proud of Katelyn, we watched her during the winter Olympics and again last night. What a pleasure to watch her on the ice, her smile fills our hearts with Canada pride. Congrats Kate once again for making our country shine.
