Beloved local singer-songwriter Sherry Ryan is set to release her anticipated fourth studio album, Wreckhouse, at The Ship Pub in St. John’s this Friday April 27th.
“I feel like the songs are getting better in terms of how they are crafted,” Ryan shared with The Herald on Wreckhouse. “I feel like my songwriting is getting better, and maybe my vocal performance is getting stronger, I hope. I feel like the performance of having that band play together, and having the album with Don, I feel like it’s just high quality. I think it’s taking things up a notch in terms of the quality and sound.”
Ryan’s band for the show and album includes a who’s who of the local music world including Dave Rowe, Chris Donnelly, Brad Power and Brian Cherwick. Guest musicians include Maria Cherwick on viola, Allan Ricketts on pedal steel and Andrea Monro and Andrew Laite on vocals.
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and are available at The Ship Pub, O’Brien’s Music, Fred’s Records, Johnny Ruth and at Sherry’s yoga classes.
