The Newfoundland Herald was saddened to hear that founder of Fred’s Records and local music legend Frederick Brokenshire has passed away at the age of 69. Below is his full obituary from Carnell’s Funeral Home:
Frederick Robert Brokenshire, age 69, passed away peacefully in St. John’s on October 27, 2021.

Founder of legendary Irish traditional outfit The Chieftains, Paddy Moloney has passed away at the age of 83.
A frequent visitor to the island on tours over the decades, Moloney and The Chieftains were a trailblazing attraction in their respective genre, influencing many of our finest.
